ALTEN Technology USA is seeking a Senior Electrical Utilities Engineer to join their team in Clayton, NC. The role involves acting as the site’s Owner’s Engineer for ongoing capital projects in a GMP manufacturing environment, focusing on high-power, industrial electrical activities.

About the Role

As a Senior Electrical Utilities Engineer, you will be responsible for reviewing and approving single-line diagrams, validating switchgear and transformers, ensuring compliance with NEC and North Carolina electrical codes, and acting as a technical lead for engineering firms. You will identify design gaps and safety risks, support construction reviews, and represent the electrical owner for capital and brownfield projects.

About You

Required:

10+ years experience in industrial / utilities electrical engineering.
Strong background in power distribution, high-voltage and high-power systems, and industrial motors and drives.
Experience acting as Owner’s Engineer.
Strong NEC knowledge.
Experience in pharma, biotech, life sciences, or GMP manufacturing environments.

Preferred:

Experience managing EPCs, contractors, inspectors, AHJs.
Comfortable walking down sites and reviewing as-built installations.
Experience in regulated environments (FDA, GMP, EHS).
Multi-discipline project exposure (HVAC, piping interfaces).
