Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Senior Environmental Associate to join their Environmental and Permitting team in Charlotte, NC. The role involves reviewing, evaluating, and implementing environmental regulatory requirements for various power and industrial projects.
About the Role
As a Senior Environmental Associate, you will utilize your expertise to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations. Your responsibilities will include preparing environmental impact studies, developing mitigation compliance plans, and interfacing with regulatory agencies. You will also prepare complex technical reports and work collaboratively with project engineers to ensure environmental considerations are integrated into project designs. The position offers opportunities for travel and is based on a hybrid work schedule requiring in-office work three days a week.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Four or more years of experience in environmental compliance, impact assessment, and/or permitting for complex industrial projects.
- Familiarity with environmental laws and regulations applicable to large industrial facilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate inputs from various stakeholders.
Preferred:
- Proficiency in ArcGIS mapping and experience in developing interactive maps.
- Certification or coursework in GIS.
- Experience with AERMOD and preparation of inputs for the software.
