Cargomatic is seeking a Senior Human Resources Generalist to join their team in Long Beach, CA. The role involves owning core HR operations while serving as a strategic partner to leaders and employees.
About the Role
As a Senior Human Resources Generalist, you will be responsible for maintaining a compliant, high-performing workplace through strong employee relations, policy stewardship, HRIS ownership, and operational excellence. You will execute employee lifecycle transactions, conduct workplace investigations, administer leave programs, and support talent development initiatives. The role also includes driving HR process optimization and contributing to special HR projects.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience.
- Strong working knowledge of California employment law.
- Proven experience administering HRIS systems and maintaining employee data integrity.
- Experience conducting workplace investigations.
Preferred:
- Experience administering FMLA, CFRA, ADA, and workers’ compensation programs.
- Payroll exposure and ability to serve as backup for payroll processing.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PHR certification.
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth or technology-driven environment.
- Track record of improving HR systems, workflows, or compliance processes.
