About the Role
As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will work with cross-functional teams to demonstrate future technologies, identify areas for improvement in customer performance metrics, and oversee the design, manufacturing, and testing of R&D projects. You will also manage supplier relationships, solve complex mechanical issues, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering or a related field from an accredited University or College.
- 10+ years of experience in engineering.
- Heavy Machinery/Industrial Experience.
- Depth of knowledge in machining, welding, and assembly processes for large assemblies.
- Experience leading engineering projects from design through build and testing.
- Strong technical communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
Preferred:
- Railcar, Locomotive or MOW knowledge.
- Field experience.
- Familiarity with locomotive or rail vehicle manufacturing.
- Understanding of FRA/AAR rules.
- 3D CAD experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to influence, motivate, coach, and drive accountability.
