WSP in the U.S. is seeking a Senior P&C Field Services Technician to join their team for project locations in Maine, New York, Virginia, North Carolina, and Florida. The role involves providing advanced technical support in electrical testing and commissioning in utility substations and industrial power systems.
About the Role
As a Senior P&C Field Services Technician, you will deliver advanced technical support across environmental, construction, and infrastructure-related field activities. Your responsibilities will include performing testing and commissioning of Protection and Control systems, leading inspections, and providing technical direction to junior staff. You will also be involved in troubleshooting technical issues, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, and coordinating with subcontractors on site preparation and testing logistics.
About You
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 9 years of experience in the electrical testing industry, including experience in medium and high voltage circuit breakers, power transformers, and substation protection and controls testing.
- Demonstrable expertise on transmission, generation, or distribution relays and protective schemes.
- Proven technical skills related to protective relays including relay calibration and testing.
- Strong understanding of electrical field testing standards and practices.
- Demonstrable knowledge of testing electrical distribution, generation, and transmission projects.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness and physical ability to lift up to 35 pounds individually, and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Must be willing to travel (up to 80%).
Preferred:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Technology degree.
- Experience in testing and troubleshooting electromechanical relays.
- Current OSHA 30-hour or 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
