Summary
Velo3D is seeking a Senior Planner to join their team in Fremont, CA. The role involves owning production and materials planning strategy and execution to drive predictable and stable production plans.
About the Role
As a Senior Planner, you will be responsible for creating and executing the master production schedule and material planning strategy. Your tasks will include translating demand forecasts into executable plans, identifying capacity constraints, partnering with Senior Buyers for material availability, and driving improvements in planning accuracy and inventory turns. You will also maintain planning master data, support new product introductions, and establish planning KPIs while mentoring junior planners.
About You
Required:
- 6–10+ years of production or materials planning experience in manufacturing.
- Deep understanding of MRP, MPS, capacity planning, and inventory management.
- Proven ability to make trade-off decisions balancing cost, delivery, and capacity.
- Advanced ERP/MRP and Excel skills (what-if analysis, planning scenarios).
- Strong executive-level communication and influence skills.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity and scaling environments.
Preferred:
- APICS CPIM (or equivalent).
- Experience in high-mix, low-volume, complex manufacturing.
- Exposure to demand planning, S&OP, or IBP processes.
