Summary
Xcel Energy is seeking a Senior Project Manager to support capital efforts and roadmap their data centers in a part-time, contract role in the Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul Area.
About the Role
As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for planning, documenting, and facilitating data center infrastructure projects. Your role will involve developing comprehensive roadmaps, collaborating with engineers and architects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and facilitating communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders. You will forecast project needs, budgets, and timelines for large, complex data center builds while working within a flexible schedule.
About You
Required:
- Registered Communication Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in data center design, build, or physical infrastructure.
- Proven experience with large, complicated data center projects.
- Must be based in Minnesota and able to commute to the office three days per week (Tues/Wed/Thurs).
Preferred:
- Strong understanding of physical data center requirements: power loads, hot/cold aisle containment, grounding, bonding, and thermal management.
- Excellent communication skills; ability to translate technical information for non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Visio; working knowledge of AutoCAD.
