Summary
Rocket Lab is seeking a Senior RF Systems Engineer I/II to join their team in Long Beach, CA. The role involves supporting the development of new RF products, including components and systems, and requires a strong combination of RF engineering, system design, and system test experience.
About the Role
As a Senior RF Systems Engineer I/II, you will be responsible for defining and maintaining requirements specifications, conducting payload design trades, driving the development process, and supporting the development of test plans and procedures. You will also provide technical support to internal and external customers and maintain awareness of product development and production schedules.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, RF communications, or other engineering degree with 5+ years of relevant experience (for Engineer I) or 8+ years (for Engineer II).
- Demonstrated RF knowledge including link budget analysis and linearity.
- Solid theoretical and practical understanding of RF communications and navigation systems.
- Ability to account for ITU constraints and end-to-end experience in developing and delivering multiple RF systems.
- U.S. citizenship is required due to program requirements.
- Ability to obtain a TS / SCI clearance.
Preferred:
- Existing TS / SCI clearance.
- Extensive experience in space grade system design.
- Experience in analyses including worst case, reliability, FMECA, thermal, and derating analyses.
- Experience designing, integrating, and testing RF communications systems for launch vehicles or satellites.
- Project management experience.
