Summary
Klaviyo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their team in Boston, MA (Hybrid). The role involves building machine learning-powered systems for product recommendations, focusing on backend services and data pipelines.
About the Role
As the Senior Software Engineer for Product Recommendations, you will lead the design and operation of backend services, architect large-scale data processing pipelines, collaborate with ML engineers, and drive the development of ML/AI systems. You will also implement observability for data and services, mentor team members, and participate in on-call incident response.
About You
Required:
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with mission-critical backend services.
- Proficient in Python and comfortable with cloud-native architectures (AWS preferred).
- Experience in data-driven decision making and A/B testing.
- Comfortable designing and querying data models in various datastores.
- Excellent technical collaborator and communicator.
Preferred:
- Experience with product recommendation systems or ML-powered features.
- Familiarity with big data frameworks like Apache Spark.
- Experience in AI/ML systems and products.
- Background in e-commerce or consumer personalization products.
