Summary
V2X Inc is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Engineering team in Indianapolis, IN, focusing on the development and integration of advanced systems for the Department of Defense.
About the Role
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will thrive in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment, designing, implementing, and validating embedded software on VxWorks. You will lead the design and implementation of safety-critical real-time software, mentor engineers, manage workstreams, drive software testing, integrate hardware and software components, and support driver development. Additionally, you will manage virtual environments and act as a technical lead and customer point of contact, while continuously improving processes and participating in lab testing.
About You
Required:
- 4+ years of professional experience in software development or a related engineering discipline.
- Demonstrated leadership with a proven ability to mentor individual engineers.
- Strong self-organization and time-management skills.
- Hands-on experience developing for real-time operating systems (VxWorks or equivalent).
- Proficiency in safety-critical software development and testing (DO-178C, ISO 26262, IEC 61508, etc.).
- US Citizenship and ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance (or higher).
- Proficiency in C, C++, C#, and Python languages.
Preferred:
- Experience with driver development and signing for embedded platforms.
- Proficiency in software analysis and test tools and automation.
- Comfortable with virtual machine and container (Docker, Kubernetes) deployment for development and testing.
- Background in hardware/software integration, including communication using low-level data representations.
- Willingness to grow into a Technical Lead role and act as a customer point-of-contact.
