About the Role
As a Senior Software Engineer Lead, you will define the technical direction for Ruby client libraries, lead high-impact projects, and develop idiomatic Ruby code. You will guide other engineers, establish coding standards, diagnose production issues, and mentor junior developers. This position requires versatility and leadership as you tackle new challenges across the full-stack.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
- 5 years of experience with Ruby development and Ruby language ecosystem.
- 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
- 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
- Experience as a technical lead or principal engineer.
Preferred:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
- Experience in designing, developing, and maintaining libraries or Software Development Kits (SDKs).
- Knowledge of the Ruby language, its runtime, performance characteristics and conventions.
- Understanding of API surface area and backward compatibility.
