About the Role
As a Senior Staff Attorney, you will conduct legal screenings, provide representation in asylum and removal defense cases, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to address client legal needs. You will also maintain knowledge of immigration policies, conduct trainings, and advocate for humanitarian immigrants while supervising legal assistants and staff attorneys.
About You
Required:
- Law degree (JD or LLM) from an ABA-accredited U.S. institution and admission to any state bar, with Maryland license required.
- At least 3 years’ experience providing direct representation in immigration court and/or before USCIS to asylum applicants and other immigrants seeking humanitarian relief.
Preferred:
- Bilingual in one or more languages of the survivor population (e.g., Spanish, French, Arabic).
- Experience representing unaccompanied minors before EOIR, USCIS, and handling state predicate orders for unaccompanied minors.
