Summary
Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Senior Substation Physical Designer 1 to join their team in San Diego, CA. The role involves working in a project team environment to design high and extra high voltage substations.
About the Role
As a Senior Substation Physical Designer, you will be responsible for preparing various substation drawings including General Arrangement, Electrical Equipment Plans, Section Views, and more. You will also interpret vendor information, perform walkdowns at client facilities, and apply client standards to your work.
About You
Required:
- A minimum of 10 years of substation physical design experience.
- An Associate’s Degree in Drafting, or a high school diploma with 2 or more years of drafting coursework or equivalent technical experience.
- Proficient with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
- Ability to visualize parts in 3D without the aid of the computer.
Preferred:
- An Associate's Degree in Computer Aided Design.
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
- Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.
