Waymo is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer, Depot Automation to join their team in San Francisco, CA. The role involves developing and implementing requirements, system architecture, and verification strategies for new depot automation features.
About the Role
As a Senior Systems Engineer, Depot Automation, you will work with cross-functional teams to develop a deep technical understanding of depot automation features, drive verification and monitoring systems, and debug field issues. You will also extend existing features to new vehicle platforms and provide engineering recommendations to senior stakeholders.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or other technical field.
- At least 5 years of experience in systems engineering, software development, or related field.
- A systems engineering mindset and a proactive, data-driven approach to fixing problems.
- Ability to read C++ to understand feature implementation and debug issues.
- Ability to query data sets (SQL) and create dashboards for debugging and performance monitoring.
Preferred:
- Strong foundation in system engineering fundamentals such as requirements definition, formal verification and validation methods.
- Experience with test development including simulation and hardware in the loop.
- Experience deploying products at scale.
- Experience with software integration testing.
