Summary
XNET is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer (RADIUS/AAA Focus) to join their team remotely in the United States. The role involves architecting, implementing, securing, and optimizing AAA services for a decentralized Wi-Fi network.
About the Role
As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will design, configure, and maintain FreeRADIUS servers, develop AAA policies, and manage RadSec for secure communication. You will operate highly available AAA systems across hybrid infrastructure, integrate automation for deployment and monitoring, and manage TLS certificates. Additionally, you will configure Wi-Fi Passpoint and OpenRoaming profiles and collaborate with various teams on system architecture.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with AAA systems, particularly FreeRADIUS.
- Proficiency in SQL (PostgreSQL), RADIUS protocol, and Linux systems administration.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, SaaS-based platforms, and containerized deployments.
- Strong scripting/automation skills: Python, Bash, Ansible, Terraform.
Preferred:
- Experience with container orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience managing Wi-Fi AP fleets and controller platforms (e.g., OpenWRT, Ruckus, Cisco, Meraki).
- Deep understanding of Wi-Fi Passpoint and OpenRoaming.
- Prior engagement with industry groups (WFA, WBA) or knowledge of standards (e.g., WRIX, Wi-Fi 6/6E, EAP, 3GPP AAA).
