Summary
WSP in the U.S. is seeking a Senior Transmission Line Project Engineer to join their team with flexible office locations in the Central US, preferably in Chicago, IL. The role involves providing technical leadership for high-voltage overhead transmission line projects.
About the Role
As a Senior Transmission Line Project Engineer, you will lead the engineering of transmission projects up to 765kV, manage project schedules, conduct project meetings, coordinate with clients, and ensure adherence to quality and safety standards. You will also support project managers with status reports and resource forecasting, while contributing to business planning and staff development.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- 5-7 years’ experience in the transmission field managing projects and leading multi-disciplinary teams
- Professional Engineering (PE) licensure
- Strong understanding of transmission line fundamentals and PLS-CADD operation
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software suite
- Strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills
Preferred:
- Field program planning, management, and execution experience
- Subcontractor management experience
- Cost estimating and scheduling experience
- Field experience
- MBA degree from an accredited university
- Involvement in technical societies (IEEE, CIGRE, ASCE)
- Experience using ArcGIS, AutoCAD/MicroStation, Foundation Design Software (FAD Tools, SHAFT, LPILE)
- POLE and TOWER experience
