Osmo is seeking a Sensor Hardware Development Intern to join their team in Elizabeth, NJ. The role involves building knowledge and strategies for sensor optimization, including sample introduction and signal maximization.
About the Role
As a Sensor Hardware Development Intern, you will work under the direction of the Sensor Application Scientist and report to the Director of Sensor Technology. Your responsibilities will include utilizing knowledge of fluid dynamics and engineering to optimize sample introduction and maximize sensor signal through parameter optimization. This position requires in-person attendance five days a week at the new facility in Elizabeth, NJ.
About You
Required:
Current Undergraduate or Graduate student in mechanical engineering.
Experience with rapid prototyping and experimental hardware platforms, such as microcontroller-based systems and single-board computers.
Experience in CAD software, additive manufacturing, and embedded systems engineering.
Strong collaborative mindset and initiative to tackle problems.
Preferred:
Experience in fluid dynamics.
Experience in chemical sensing techniques such as ion mobility spectrometry, mass spectrometry, and spectroscopy.
Additional experience in chemistry or machine learning.
