Summary
Tennant Company is seeking a Service Technician to join their team in Detroit, MI. The role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing battery and robotic Tennant products at customer facilities.
About the Role
As a Service Technician, you will perform preventative maintenance and resolve complex mechanical and electrical problems on customer-owned Tennant products. You will own your territory, plan your daily schedule, and ensure open communication with customers regarding service expectations. Responsibilities include maintaining records of service activities, ensuring cleanliness of company property, and collaborating with internal partners to support your success.
About You
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license plus meet Tennant Company driving policy requirements.
- 0-2 years of experience in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
- Experience using hand and power shop tools, equipment, and diagnostic devices (multimeter, voltmeter, etc.).
- Proficiency in using a personal computer, MS Office Suite, and email.
Preferred:
- Vocational schooling in automotive/diesel/electrical.
- Previous experience working on Electro-Mechanical Equipment systems and components (Automotive, forklifts, appliances, golf carts, hospital equipment, etc.).
- Experience in a field service position.
- Experience working directly with customers.
