Summary
Hotwire Communications Ltd is seeking a Service Technician to join their team in Homestead, FL. The role involves quality installation practices including upgrades, disconnects, and troubleshooting of services such as IP and RF based video, voice, and internet.
About the Role
As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing reconnects, requested and non-pay disconnects, and changes of service while adhering to company procedures and safe work practices. Your daily tasks will include fiber optic troubleshooting, administering router and Wi-Fi processes, installing CAT5/CAT6 drop wire, troubleshooting IP issues, and configuring customer PCs for internet operation. You will also work on an on-call schedule rotation and perform other duties as assigned.
About You
Required:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience installing, testing, and troubleshooting cable, phone, and internet.
- Experience with Fiber Optic Cabling.
- Proficiency using small hand tools and larger power tools.
- Active and clean, non-restrictive, state issued driver’s license in the state where hired.
- Comfortable working on a ladder and at all heights.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Preferred:
- Associates Degree in Internet Technologies or Engineering.
- Cisco Certifications, CCT or CCENT entry level certificates.
- Microsoft Certifications, MCSA for Office.
- Ability to work days, weekends, evenings, and holidays.
