County of San Diego is seeking a Sheriff's Helicopter/Airplane Mechanic to join their team in San Diego, CA. The role involves maintaining and repairing airframes, engines, and essential components of the aircraft operated by the Sheriff's Office.
About the Role
As a Sheriff's Helicopter/Airplane Mechanic, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and performance of the Sheriff's Office aircraft. Your responsibilities will include performing maintenance and repairs on helicopters, particularly the Bell Huey 205 and 407 series, and ensuring that all aircraft are mission-ready. You will work in a climate-controlled repair hangar and may be required to perform emergency repairs during evenings and weekends.
About You
Required:
Possession of a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Power Plant License.
Successful completion of training or education in helicopter and aircraft maintenance from an FAA-recognized agency.
Possession of a valid California Class C driver's license.
One (1) year of paid experience repairing and maintaining helicopters.
Preferred:
Experience in maintaining Bell Huey 205 and 407 series helicopters.
Specialized training in helicopter repair and avionics expertise.
FAA Inspection Authorization.
