Summary

Bastian Solutions is seeking a Site Project Engineer to join their team in Chicago, IL. The role involves being the primary representative during the installation, commissioning, and startup phases of material handling and automation projects.

About the Role

As a Site Project Engineer, you will closely coordinate with the Project Manager and Field Application Engineer, assist with equipment layout reviews, manage subcontractor personnel, implement safety protocols, and develop daily site reports. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting equipment, maintaining checklists, and ensuring clear communication with team members and customers. The position requires significant travel to customer sites, approximately 50-75% of the time.

About You

Required:

Must be eligible to work in the USA long term without sponsorship.
4-year Engineering or Building Construction Management Degree.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Fluency with the MS Office software suite.
Ability to interpret facility and equipment layouts/drawings.

Preferred:

Energetic, ambitious, and hard-working.
2D or 3D CAD experience (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.).
Skilled in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and PLC troubleshooting.
Background in Material Handling, Robotics, Manufacturing, or Packaging.
Previous automation experience.
