AEVEX is seeking a Software Engineer 3 to join their team in Tampa, FL or Dayton, OH. The role involves designing, developing, and testing software applications, particularly for embedded systems.
About the Role
As a Software Engineer 3, you will be responsible for developing Embedded Linux and microcontroller software applications using C/C++. You will integrate new technologies like ROS1/2 and Docker, collaborate in code reviews, conduct software testing, and analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements. You will contribute throughout the entire software development process, ensuring adherence to standards and best practices.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related Software Development focused field.
- 6+ years of software development experience.
- Proficiency in C/C++, CMake, and embedded programming.
- Experience with Linux, x86, ARM cross-compilers and toolchains.
- Familiarity with middleware such as ROS1/2, Git, and Docker.
Preferred:
- Experience with autopilot integration and autonomy.
- Familiarity with Visual Studio / VS Code.
- Knowledge of sensor fusion techniques and collaborative navigation.
- Experience with algorithm development and Linux tools.
- Familiarity with open source robotics/perception libraries.
