Summary
Notion is seeking a Software Engineer, AI Intern for Summer 2026 to join their team in New York or San Francisco. The intern will work on building and shipping AI projects that enhance the Notion AI product and contribute to a fast, reliable, and secure user experience.
About the Role
As a Software Engineer AI Intern, you will be part of Notion's first engineering internship class, working closely with a mentor and the team over a 12-week period. Your responsibilities include writing clean, secure, tested, and documented code; designing and enhancing Notion AI with new capabilities; and developing, fixing, and debugging software across the full stack including web services, databases, applications, and tools.
About You
Required:
- Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, graduating before July 2027.
- Previous internship experience.
- Proficiency or working towards proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Typescript, Node.js, or Python.
- Ability to problem-solve and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Availability to work in Notion's New York or San Francisco office from May to September (summer internship period).
Preferred:
- Experience building or prototyping features with AI technologies such as large language models (LLMs), embeddings, or machine learning.
- Expertise with technologies in Notion's stack including Typescript, React, and Python.
- Interest in computing pioneers and understanding their contributions.
- Interests outside of technology such as art, history, or social sciences.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally as a team player.
