Summary
Notion is seeking a Software Engineer, AI Intern (Winter 2026) to join their team in New York, NY or San Francisco, CA for a 12-week internship focused on building and shipping AI projects that enhance the Notion AI product.
About the Role
As a Software Engineer AI Intern, you will write clean, secure, tested, and documented code; design and enhance Notion AI with new capabilities; and develop, fix, and debug software across the full stack including web services, databases, applications, and tools. You will be paired with a mentor and work closely with the team to deliver impactful AI projects.
About You
Required:
- Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, graduating before December 2026.
- Previous internship experience.
- Working towards proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Typescript, Node.js, or Python.
- Ability to problem-solve and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to work onsite in New York or San Francisco during the internship period (January to April).
Preferred:
- Experience building or prototyping features with AI technologies such as LLMs, embeddings, or machine learning.
- Expertise with technologies in Notion's stack including Typescript, React, and Python.
- Interest in computing pioneers and understanding their contributions.
- Interests outside of technology such as art, history, or social sciences.
- Strong empathetic communication and teamwork skills.
