Summary
Notion is seeking a Software Engineer, AI Intern (Summer 2026) to join their team in New York, NY or San Francisco, CA for a 12-week internship focused on building and shipping AI projects that enhance the Notion AI product and deliver impactful solutions to customers.
About the Role
As an AI intern, you will write clean, secure, tested, and documented code; design and enhance Notion AI with new capabilities; and develop, fix, and debug software across the full stack including web services, databases, applications, and tools. You will be paired with a mentor and work closely with the engineering team to contribute to Notion's future.
About You
Required:
- Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, graduating before July 2027.
- Previous internship experience.
- Working towards proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Typescript, Node.js, or Python.
- Ability to problem-solve and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Availability to work from Notion's New York or San Francisco office during the internship period (May - September).
Preferred:
- Experience building or prototyping features with AI technologies (LLMs, Embeddings, ML).
- Expertise with technologies in Notion's stack including Typescript, React, and Python.
- Familiarity with computing pioneers like Ada Lovelace, Douglas Engelbart, and Alan Kay.
- Interests outside of technology such as art, history, or social sciences.
