Scientific Systems is seeking a Software Engineer II - Autonomy Systems to join their team in Burlington, MA. The role involves supporting the development of advanced AI/Autonomy technologies for collaborative, autonomous mission systems operating in multiple domains.
About the Role
As a Software Engineer II - Autonomy Systems, you will support the development of advanced AI/Autonomy software for multi-vehicle mission systems in complex environments. Your responsibilities will include designing, implementing, simulating, and testing autonomy software systems for uncrewed vehicles, presenting technical results to stakeholders, and potentially traveling as needed. You must also be able to obtain and maintain a United States DOD Security Clearance.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Math, Statistics, Robotics or related field and 3+ years of related experience.
- Experience in software development for AI, Robotics, and/or Machine Learning applications or systems.
- Experience in C/C++, Python, and/or embedded/real-time computing applications.
- Familiarity with Linux-based development environments.
- Experience with modern software development tools (Gitlab/Github).
- Prior technical writing experience.
Preferred:
- Working knowledge of robotics technology: middleware/ROS, perception, navigation, task/path planning, multi-robot coordination.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Strong teamwork experience.
