About the Role
As a Software Engineer on the AI Compilers team, you will invent and implement innovative compiler features, develop code generation techniques, design cutting-edge AI software in C++ and Python, optimize AI workloads, and collaborate with various disciplines. You will also help establish coding standards and enhance the inclusive engineering culture at Microsoft.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, or Python OR equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
Preferred:
- Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience.
- 3+ years experience programming in C/C++.
- Experience building compilers, using compiler frameworks like LLVM/MLIR, or experience optimizing AI/numerical workloads.
- Experience with AI frameworks, AI inference systems, AI kernel development, and AI workload optimization.

- Competitive salary with a typical base pay range of $100.6k–$199k per year.
- Additional compensation for specific locations, with a range of $131.4k–$215.4k in the San Francisco Bay area and NYC.
