About the Role
As a Software Engineer III, you will work on critical projects that impact Google's needs, managing project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. You will help solve complex problems related to hardware acceleration, performance bottlenecks, computer architecture, automation, and machine learning. Your responsibilities will include end-to-end performance analysis for deployed platforms and informing research directions to improve engineering solutions.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience programming in C++ or Python.
- 2 years of experience developing compute/storage systems, software systems, or networks.
Preferred:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
- 2 years of experience with hardware design, data structures, or algorithms.
- Experience with distributed systems, OS/kernel, network system design, and large-scale storage systems.
- Experience with non-x86 microarchitectures and low-level performance analysis.
- Experience with interfacing to industry-standard HDL simulators, such as Verilog.
- Experience with silicon architecture and design, with the ability to root cause performance bottlenecks in consumer devices.
