About the Role
As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for building networking solutions and abstractions, integrating and validating solutions with partners and customers, and enhancing security and connectivity services for Google Distributed Cloud platforms. You will also design and develop network virtualization solutions for container workloads and implement new networking features for Google Kubernetes Engine.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience with software development or 1 year with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
- 2 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, or networks.
- 2 years of experience with software-defined networking concepts and technologies.
- 1 year of experience with distributed computing.
- Experience in C or Go, Linux Kernel, and networking.
Preferred:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- Experience working with the open source community.
- Knowledge of core networking concepts (e.g., IPv4, IPv6, iptables, L4/L7 load balancing, and DNS).
- Knowledge of networking components at the kernel-level on Windows and Linux operating systems.
