About the Role
As a Software Engineering Architect - Commerce, you will shape the next generation of Commerce Cloud APIs and Identity systems, drive the convergence of B2C, B2B, OMS, and POS through consistent data and identity architecture, and define the API and developer experience foundation that accelerates adoption of headless and agentic commerce. You will lead backend architecture for Identity, API, and Developer Experience domains, ensuring strong design patterns and operational excellence.
About You
Required:
- 15+ years of backend software development and architecture experience, including 5+ years designing distributed, multi-tenant SaaS systems.
- Deep technical expertise in Identity and Access Management (IAM) including OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT, SAML.
- Proven experience architecting and scaling API-first platforms including REST, GraphQL, or gRPC.
Preferred:
- Experience with SCAPI-style frameworks (e.g., CommerceTools, Shopify Hydrogen APIs) and API gateway patterns.
- Hands-on experience with developer productivity and SDK frameworks.
- Strong background in data modeling, caching, and service performance optimization.
