As a Software Engineering Manager, you will build, scale, and inspire a high-performing team of engineers. You will partner with cross-functional teams to define the vision and strategy for next-generation storage systems, ensuring quality and operational excellence. Your role will involve collaborating with senior engineers to align technical direction and drive continuous improvement, impacting hundreds of millions of users daily.
About You
Required:
- Experience designing, building, and operating highly reliable and scalable distributed services.
- Demonstrated success leading teams of 10 or more software engineers, with a strong focus on mentorship and career growth.
- Deep understanding of core computer science concepts, including data structures, algorithms, and concurrency.
- Solid grasp of distributed systems fundamentals such as fault tolerance, consistency, and distributed rate limiting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience (10+ years).
Preferred:
- Experience designing and operating large-scale distributed systems such as databases or storage platforms.
- Proven track record building and running reliable platform services that support high-scale, mission-critical workloads.
- Hands-on experience with one or more of Java, Scala, Go, or Rust.
- Strong background leading senior engineers or managing other managers in a high-impact environment.
- More than 10 years of industry experience, including at least 5 years in engineering management.
