About the Role
As a Special Education Assistant, you will assist teachers in maintaining a positive learning environment and support students with self-sufficiency, communication, and academic skills. You will work closely with students to help them access their educational programs and develop essential skills.
About You
Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must have or obtain and maintain a current certificate in first aid.
- Must have or obtain and maintain a current certificate in CPR.
- Must obtain highly qualified status within one year from date of hire.
Preferred:
- Relevant experience working with students in an educational setting.
- Certificate in LIU-approved crisis management and intervention program.
- Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
