IDEA Public Schools is seeking a Special Education RISE Co-Teacher for an immediate opening at IDEA Ewing Halsell Academy in San Antonio, Texas. The role focuses on supporting students with significant cognitive and/or pervasive developmental disabilities through a functional curriculum.
About the Role
As a Special Education RISE Co-Teacher, you will assist in the educational and social development of students, implement Individual Education Plans, and provide support for individual students both inside and outside the classroom. You will work closely with classroom teachers and other professionals to ensure students can fully participate in activities and develop appropriate social skills.
About You
Required:
- At least 48 college hours required.
- Ability to instruct students and manage student behavior.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in education or related field.
- Experience working with children with cognitive and/or pervasive developmental disabilities.
- Willingness to pursue a Special Education teaching certification.
