Summary
AERO Special Education Cooperative is seeking a Special Education Teacher for the STAR Program for Elementary and Middle School for the 2025-2026 school year.
About the Role
As a Special Education Teacher, you will work with a multidisciplinary team to provide educational programming to students with autism spectrum disorder and moderate to severe mental impairments. Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing IEP goals, data collection, behavior management, and communication with families and team members. You will also utilize assistive technology and computers in your teaching.
About You
Required:
- Illinois Professional Educator's License: LBS 1 Endorsement
- Experience working with students with autism spectrum disorder and significant health impairments.
Preferred:
- Training or experience in ABA, verbal behavior, TEACCH, or similar methodologies.
- Ability to manage behavior including physical restraint.
