Summary
Medline Industries, LP is seeking a Splunk System Administrator to join their team in Northbrook, IL. The role involves managing, maintaining, and supporting an enterprise-level Splunk Cloud installation.
About the Role
As a Splunk System Administrator, you will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Splunk, configuring and maintaining the system, analyzing performance data, and providing insights to improve monitoring of Medline applications. Your responsibilities will include installing and updating Splunk agents, performing preventative maintenance, creating dashboards, and collaborating with IT teams to enhance monitoring processes.
About You
Required:
- 3+ years supporting Splunk Enterprise or Splunk Cloud in a multi-application environment.
- Strong problem isolation, resolution, analytical and diagnostic skills.
- 3+ years of experience on an operations team in a demanding fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated experience with IT Service Management processes, including incident management and change management.
- General knowledge of Windows and Linux system administration.
- Knowledge of other APM monitoring tools and industry trends.
- Good communication skills both written and verbal.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or other related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Splunk Enterprise Certified Administrator or Splunk Enterprise Certified Architect.
- ITIL Foundations (V3) certification or higher.
- Experience with VMware virtual server infrastructure, including Linux and Windows system administration.
- General knowledge of Azure Cloud and IT networks.
