Summary

Ferrotec is seeking a Sr. Infrastructure Engineer to join their team in Livermore, CA. The role involves managing and maintaining the company's enterprise infrastructure while mentoring junior staff and resolving advanced support issues.

About the Role

As a Sr. Infrastructure Engineer, you will collaborate with network and system architects to design and implement functional company systems, install and maintain networking hardware, create network security measures, and manage escalated infrastructure support issues. You will also be responsible for maintaining datacenter organization, conducting performance tests, and ensuring the security and stability of the network.

About You

Required:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field, or equivalent infrastructure experience (10+ years).
Previous work experience as a senior network/systems engineer in a high availability production environment.
Advanced knowledge of network design, operations, and monitoring.
Proficient with LAN/WAN/VPN technologies including Fortigate, Dell, and Cisco.
Experience with server virtualization technologies (VMWare, HyperVisor, etc).
Excellent leadership and mentoring skills.

Preferred:

Linux/Unix Administration experience.
MS SQL Server experience.
Backup and DR architecture.
Security design/implementation experience or certification.
Knowledge and experience with ITSM best practices.
