Summary
Collins Aerospace is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Engineer - Racks & Enclosures to join their team in Richardson, TX. The role involves the development of electronics equipment enclosures and integration into rack level assemblies for military communications.
About the Role
As a Sr. Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing military compliant enclosures, coordinating with cross-functional teams, managing project scope and budget, and contributing to prototyping and testing activities. You will also mentor team members and ensure compliance with requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
About You
Required:
- Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
Preferred:
- Background in commercial industry standards and military electronics packaging form factors.
- Experience with 3D CAD software (Solidworks, Creo, CATIA, NX, or similar).
- Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and/or previous roles as a Control Account Manager (CAM).
- Active possession of an active U.S. government issued Secret or Top Secret clearance.
- Practical experience in design and thermal management techniques for electronics packaging designs.
- Direct experience with printed circuit board (PCB) designs.
- Knowledge of military standards such as MIL-STD-810, RTCA DO-160, and MIL-STD-1472.
