Summary
City of Fort Worth is seeking a Sr. Planner - Historic Preservation to join their Development Services Department in Fort Worth, TX. The role focuses on leading projects related to historic preservation and urban planning.
About the Role
As a Sr. Planner, you will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting complex planning, zoning, and land use activities. Your tasks will include preparing staff reports, reviewing site plans for compliance, applying historic preservation standards, and collaborating with various stakeholders. You will also assist in guiding subordinate staff in the absence of the Planning Manager.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Historic Preservation, Architectural History, History, Architecture, Urban Planning or Design, Public Administration, Urban Geography, or a closely related field.
- Five (5) years of experience in planning, urban design, zoning, platting, historic preservation, annexation, tree preservation, landscape design, architecture, and/or site plan review.
Preferred:
- Experience as a planner responsible for projects involving historic preservation, zoning, and urban design.
- Knowledge of Federal, State, and local laws applicable to historic preservation and design.
- Experience preparing for and presenting to Boards and Commissions.
- Accreditations in AICP, CNU-A, AIA, and/or ASLA.
- Recent experience with GIS, permitting software, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Bi-lingual in Spanish.
