Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Sr. Principal Superalloys Engineer to join their team in East Hartford, CT. The role involves executing Nickel Superalloy development, characterization, and production implementation for current and future jet engines.
About the Role
As a Sr. Principal Superalloys Engineer, you will be responsible for leading projects related to engine safety, production stoppage, and new technology development. You will collaborate with various engineering disciplines and manufacturing customers to ensure successful implementation of technology into Pratt & Whitney's products. Key responsibilities include developing process/property relationships for Nickel based Superalloys, utilizing application processes such as casting and forging, and interfacing with government and research organizations to secure and execute contracts.
About You
Required:
- B.S. degree in Material Science, Chemical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering
- 10+ years of relevant engineering experience or 7+ years with an advanced degree
- U.S. citizenship is required
Preferred:
- M.S. or Ph.D.
- Fundamental understanding of Physical Metallurgy of Nickel Based Superalloys and Processing
- Experience in testing and characterization of alloys
- Fundamental understanding of thermal mechanical processing effects on superalloys
- Experience in data collection, management, and analysis methods
