Summary
Mercor is seeking a Sr. Product Design Engineer to join their team remotely. The role involves leading mechanical design for components and systems in a fast-paced product development environment.
About the Role
As a Sr. Product Design Engineer, you will lead the mechanical design for components, features, or systems, contribute to mechanical solutions as part of a cross-functional team, model and test prototypes, and manage work with Asia-based supply chains. You will work across the full product development cycle, pushing state-of-the-art technologies to solve complex mechanical problems.
About You
Required:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- 5+ years of industry experience in mechanical design.
- 3D/2D CAD with Siemens NX.
- Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), statistical tolerance analysis techniques, functional dimensioning, GD&T.
- Working knowledge in material properties, such as elastomers, plastics, metal, adhesive, and glass.
- Testing and analysis experience (FEA, Simulation, Design of Experiments, etc.).
- Knowledge of high-volume manufacturing techniques (stamping, machining, 3D printing, injection molding, etc.)
Preferred:
- 10 years of product design and development experience of handheld and/or wearable high-volume consumer electronics.
- Experience with highly cosmetic products and working with Industrial Design.
- Fluency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese.
- Experience designing for human factors.
- Experience designing and shipping products with Asia-based supply chains.
