About the Role
As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for supporting day-to-day general ledger accounting activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close. You will assist with cost accounting and manufacturing finance, prepare financial statements, maintain fixed asset schedules, and collaborate with operation teams to improve margins and streamline accounting processes. This role requires teamwork, flexibility, and strong communication with the Controller and accounting team.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing facility.
- Direct experience with cost accounting and inventory accounting.
- In-depth knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting best practices.
- Strong experience with reconciliations, financial statements preparation, and month-end/year-end close processes.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks Online) and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, reporting).
- Strong analytical, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with cannabis-specific financial and regulatory requirements including 280E regulations.
- Experience in budgeting and forecasting in a growing business.
