About the Role
As a Staff Accountant II, you will be responsible for managing the financial components of grants and contracts, preparing general ledger entries, reconciling accounts, submitting financial reports, maintaining accounting records, implementing internal controls, conducting variance analysis, and preparing audit schedules. You will also support financial communication with program leadership and external funders, ensuring compliance with funder requirements.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or closely related field.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in nonprofit accounting and grant management.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Proficiency in cost allocation, financial reporting, and grant compliance requirements.
Preferred:
- Experience with fund accounting, GAAP, and Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200) for managing federal grants.
- Proficiency working with QuickBooks or comparable accounting software, Adobe Pro, and Microsoft Office products.
