About the Role
As a Staff Backend Engineer on the Invoicing team, you will design and develop next-generation invoicing primitives powering higher order APIs, lead the delivery of optimized product experiences, collaborate with engineering, product, and design leadership to define product-led growth strategies, establish best practices and processes to measure feature impact, make tradeoffs balancing business priorities and technical sustainability, lead the team to execute short- and long-term roadmaps, work with multiple languages including Ruby, Java, and Typescript, and mentor engineers to become future leaders at Stripe.
About You
Required:
- 6+ years of full-time software development experience.
- Ability to work effectively across the full stack and navigate multiple languages and tools.
- Self-directed with the ability to operate autonomously across multiple teams to deliver scaled impact.
- Experience as a technical lead defining roadmaps for complex projects spanning multiple teams and functions.
- Experience mentoring and growing senior engineers as a technical leader.
Preferred:
- 8+ years of full-time software development experience.
- Strong technical background with extensive experience designing and engineering products and user surfaces for high-impact products.
- Experience with experimentation.
- Experience with data-driven decision making.
