About the Role
As a Staff Counsel, you will independently manage all phases of litigation involving claims of moderate to heavy value, conduct legal research, draft legal documents, lead settlement negotiations, and provide strategic legal advice to clients. You will also utilize advanced technology for case management, ensure compliance with legal standards, mentor junior attorneys, and contribute to organizational improvements.
About You
Required:
- Juris Doctor (JD) or LLB degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the bar in Illinois and in good standing.
- Minimum of 5 years of successful trial attorney experience, preferably within insurance law.
- Proven experience managing moderately complex litigation with favorable outcomes.
- Exceptional legal research, writing, negotiation, and analytical skills.
Preferred:
- General knowledge of insurance law, workers’ compensation, and/or No Fault law.
- Proficient in advanced e-discovery tools and legal case management software.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and lead junior attorneys.
- Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
