The role involves supporting environmental inspections and compliance for construction projects related to natural gas distribution systems.

About the Role

As a Staff Environmental Scientist/Environmental Compliance Coordinator, you will be responsible for supporting environmental inspections and compliance for facility-based and field-based construction projects. Your tasks will include emergency spill response, remediation oversight, regulatory reporting, environmental compliance auditing, waste characterization, and preparation of environmental reports and permitting applications. You will also conduct field surveys, collect GIS data, and ensure compliance with safety policies.

About You

Required:

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or a related natural science degree from an accredited program and 4 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 3 years of experience.
Minimum 5 years of experience in Environmental Science or Environmental Compliance.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, SharePoint) and experience with environmental permits and compliance plans.
Valid driver's license.

Preferred:

Certification in Stormwater / Erosion & Sediment Control.
Experience in Environmental Construction Compliance / Environmental Inspection.
Familiarity with ArcGIS, GPS, and GIS Mapping.
