PayPal is seeking a Staff Full Stack Engineer to join their Shopping Team in San Jose, CA. The role involves building secure, high-performing applications and features, overseeing the process from architecture to ongoing operations.
About the Role
As a Staff Full Stack Engineer, you will coordinate project activities, determine technical tasks for other engineers, improve existing structures and processes, and collaborate with management to enhance engineering standards. You will also be responsible for delivering impactful features, responding to customer feedback, and ensuring compliance in an agile environment.
About You
Required:
- 5+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred:
- Proficiency in JavaScript/Node.js (Golang experience is a plus).
- Experience with React (UI/UX).
- GraphQL and REST API development experience.
- Cloud platform experience (GCP, AWS, etc.).
- Solid foundation in data structures & algorithms, error handling, and debugging.
- Experience creating automated unit, integration, and functional test suites.
- Background working with large-scale, distributed, high-availability systems.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, CircleCI, Harness, and Git.
- SQL and NoSQL database knowledge.
- Experience with Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs).
- Experience in e-commerce, product catalogs, advertisement or search and recommendation systems.
- Experience developing browser extensions.
