Summary
Delve Underground is seeking a Staff Geotechnical Engineer to join their team in Chicago or Milwaukee. The role focuses on supporting the delivery of tunnels, shafts, and other underground infrastructure projects.
About the Role
As a Staff Geotechnical Engineer, you will support geotechnical investigation programs, perform engineering analyses and design calculations, conduct geologic and seismic hazard evaluations, and assist in preparing construction drawings and specifications. You will work under the direction of senior engineers and be an integral member of a team on complex, multi-discipline projects.
About You
Required:
- BS in Geotechnical/Civil or Geological Engineering
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or ability and intent to earn within 6 months of hiring
- Completion of relevant coursework or experience in geotechnical engineering, soil and rock mechanics, tunneling, or subsurface investigation methods
Preferred:
- Familiarity with geotechnical analysis software for slope and excavation stability analysis, seepage analysis, seismic site response analysis
- Strong analytical and technical communication skills
- Willingness to work in the field and travel for short-term assignments
