Lightmatter is seeking a Staff Physical Design Engineer to join their team in Mountain View, CA. The role involves implementing complex digital blocks and driving timing closure, power integrity, and physical verification for high-performance ASICs.
About the Role
As a Staff Physical Design Engineer, you will implement digital blocks in advanced tech nodes from synthesis through physical verification, debug timing constraints, build and customize power grids, and work with EDA companies to resolve tool issues. You will also write scripts to automate flows and be involved in manual layouts and silicon photonics layout.
About You
Required:
Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
At least 8+ years of industry experience working as a Physical Design Engineer.
Experience completing blocks or top-level physical design for large ASICs or mixed signal chips that taped out.
Thorough knowledge of timing closure, LVS/DRC closure.
Experience in TCL and Python (or other scripting languages).
Strong teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate with multiple functional teams.
Preferred:
Masters in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
Hands-on experience with Cadence tools.
Tape-out experience with 3nm designs.
