About the Role
As a Staff Software Engineer, you will design and evolve internal APIs and services for payroll, own complex technical problems, and collaborate with other engineering teams to enhance payroll capabilities. Your responsibilities include maintaining backend services, ensuring system health and scalability, and improving performance and reliability as payroll processing scales.
About You
Required:
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong focus on backend development.
- Experience building and scaling internal platforms or foundational APIs that support multiple product teams.
- Strong system design skills, including performance optimization and reliability in production systems.
Preferred:
- Proficiency in one or more backend programming languages; experience with Ruby is strongly preferred.
- Experience collaborating across teams and acting as a technical partner in a product-focused engineering organization.
- Actively uses AI-assisted development tools in daily engineering work.
