About the Role
As a Staff Software Engineer, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to translate clinical diagnostic requirements into reliable software. Your responsibilities include developing embedded control software, maintaining orchestration and scheduling logic, building error handling mechanisms, integrating firmware and hardware, mentoring junior engineers, and driving improvements in software quality through testing and automation.
About You
Required:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, electrical/computer engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of five years of experience programming in modern C++ for embedded systems.
- Hands-on experience developing for embedded Linux or real-time operating systems.
- Proven ability to design software for high uptime and reliability.
- Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and continuous integration in an embedded context.
- Excellent cross-functional communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred:
- Background in laboratory equipment, clinical diagnostics, or medical device development.
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols, including CAN/CANopen.
- Experience modernizing legacy codebases and introducing contemporary best practices.
- Exposure to lab automation robotics or high-throughput instrumentation.
- Experience with creating simulation models of hardware for testing.
